Add fade in/fade out on a graphic
It’s easy to add a few professional-looking touches to your videos to snazz them up. For example, try adding a graphic or text box to your screen recording and have it fade in, then fade out.
Very simply:
- Insert your graphic
- Add a Video Action (VA) at the beginning and the end of the graphic
- Move the scrubber to the beginning of the first VA. Set the opacity to zero.
- Move the scrubber to the end of the second VA. Set the opacity to zero.
Here’s a short video demonstration:
Remember, this can also be done with a text box in the same way!
EDITOR’S NOTE: Please note, with the release of ScreenFlow version 2.0, it is now much easier to add transitions such as Fade In and Fade Out. See our intro video on ScreenFlow 2D & 3D transitions

I stumbled accross your blog by using stumbleupon and love the design of the whole thing! I normally skip straight past blogs as I have over 20 in my RSS and dont even have time to read the ones that I have! I am started out as a blogger myself and always tried to keep the design simple like yours as I think it is crucial, if you can back it up with some lovely pics like yours! Keep up the nice work! Cheers!
